25 May '06: Plasser & Theurer 08-16/4x4C-RT switch & crossing tamper DR73913 in Amec Orange livery, usually operating in the SE of England, was transported by road for work on the new platform line. It arrived at Rutherglen on Tuesday 23 May, travelling to Edinburgh by rail the next day, and seen working on the Thursday. This is the first rail vehicle to use the new track.

25 May '06: Another new signal erected on platform 1 to replace E457. This is also a 4-aspect LED searchlight signal, and will protect the new scissor crossing.Previous | Next25 May '06: The footbridge to Waverley Steps has been almost completely demolished within 5 days of the earlier pictures, seen with DR73913 underneath. A Bardic torch has been left on the tamper's siren!
